Even though the 400D was standing on a grip... it just looked like a toy next to the D200. I couldn't help it but I just had to laugh at it.

Both the 400D and the D40 felt like toys in my hand compared to my K10D. I dont think I could even consider either camera. Beefy or bust, I say. If it had fit my budget I'd prob have a D200 listed under my username.

The D200 also does multiple exposures.

The D80 does as well, it will let you take up to three shots for the same image I believe. It also allows you the option of doing image overlay with raw files.

Thanks for the great advice. I ordered my D200 this morning. Now all I have to figure out is what to do to stop from going crazy while waiting for my new toy.
Congratulations! Great to hear.

Download the manual to read while you wait for your camera!

I think I might make it my job to put that in every thread where someone is waiting on a camera. I'll be the "Download the manual while you wait!" fairy.

Ok I'm probably exposing my level of ignorance here, but why is the D200 $500 more than the D80? I want to buy myself a decent SLR and have been comparing these two Nikon's and the Canon 400D and I am utterly confused!

One of the difference is that the D200 has something like 7 pre-progrommed choices or better combinations that the D80 does not have. I am not talking about the Vari-programmes.

Sorry I did not see your following message saying that you did order a D200. Great!

I recieved my D200 today! The battery had a bit of charge on and I managed to play around a bit before it died. I took this 5 minutes after taking the camera out of its box.

Edit: Ok, so I can't get the picture to show up? Any suggestions?
