Fred Astair and I were born on the same day... well, not the SAME day, but the same day of the year... he was born on May 10, 1899. He's older than me.

But the really interesting thing about my actual day of birth, Feb. 3, 1959, was not who was born, but who died.

It was "The Day the Music Died".

For those unfamilar, this refers to a plane crash that killed Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and "The Big Bopper"
