I've always thought that silos and water towers were great places for art and advertising. Here's one that jumped out at me on a dark night last summer.

I think this would make a wonderful challenge topic...

soup- neither, it's there to be seen from the highway and lit up at night; only thing I did was black out some trees in the backgroung, crop, and resize.

kirbic- I had that thought too, a challenge based around silos and water towers, might be fun.

Would you take a windmill?

Windmills are cool with me but I surely don't see many of them in my part of the country.

You never know ... this one's in the middle of a city of about 120,000, with several others around it ...

I am going to start looking for them.

Then you should like this ... it was part of the same hedge. I was using the oleander to hide the ugly utility pole next to the windmill.

Hey guys, silos, water tanks, windmills, or old barns with advertising, keep on snapping away. These are a part of the past that is slowly disappearing in many sections of the country

Here is a great article about how water towers work on my favorite website: howstuffworks.com

I found a very interesting link at the end of that article showing interesting water towers across the U.S.

Find it here.

If you want to see a REAL windmill, check out the town I grew up in, Bowling Green, Ohio. I don't have a picture of it myself, but I found a page that does.

Check it Out!

The windmill is rented out for apartments.

I can see why this jumped out at you. It would be a creepy feeling seeing this at night.

Very cool Quadrajet. The star-streaks are an excellent touch. This is going to cost me some sleep!!
