We always called them "binkies" here... when one of my kids lost his binky, it was literally the END of the world until it was found.

We call it a 'doadie' - Although that's the first time I've seen it written down!

Here (Ontario) it is always pacifier or suss/sussie.

I always called them suckers or pacifiers. My kids didn't use them though. I really don't mind them for babies, but I can't stand seeing a 5 year old with one of them plastered in their mouths.

Edit to add: Really cute picture!

We called it a Nuk (pronounced "nook"), for the brand name.

It was a very valuable piece of equipment for #1. But for some reason #2 didn't get so hooked on the Nuk. :-)

Cute photo!

We referred to them as the "plug".

"Dummy" in Australia; "oshaburi" in Japan - and that means some sucking thing.

Nice photo :-)

In Holland we have several names for it. Most people call it 'speentje' my youngest son for whatever reason called it his 'bibi' I had about 6 of them, because if he lost his that would be the end of the world, so I bought them 2 or 3 at a time. Found them again underneath the couch or in the garden, even in the dog's bed hahaha!

In Brasil it's a chupeta and you can buy ones made out of silver and engraved with the kid's name. My oldest son was an addict until he was about three. I used to tie a string to the chupeta and pin it to his shirt so he didn't lose it. My grandson lives in Ohio, and he has a binkie.

In our house we began calling it a plug (plugged up that noisy hole) but since our kids couldnt say plug it ended up being the "gup". And on a side note our youngest Rowan just gave up the gup last week. Whooh hooh!
