I'm one of those trolls people keep talking about.

Looking at my life voting, my top 10 votes include the images that finished at 161st & 151st

Round up them wagons, light the torches and break out the pitchforks...

Hmmm... well maybe you're not really a troll if you know why you vote an image low. You like what you like! Maybe your monitor is tilted to the left ;o)

You're definitely a troll if I'm in your top 10. It takes one to know one.

By the way, I gave 151 an 8.

The true Troll test probably comes by looking to see the highest finisher in your Bottom 10.

I've had a blue ribbon there recently.

Here's a useful exercise to see how far out of sync you are with the voting. Sort the challenge results by how you voted. Add up the places of the first 10 finishers by the way you voted (usally the first screen of results) and devide by 55 (which is the sum of 1 to 10). If the result is 1, then your top ten votes went to the actual top 10 finishers (not necessarily in the same order). The more away from 1 your number is, the more out of sync you are with the actual voting.

Here are some of my recent results

James Bond: 3.5 OK result
Diagonal 7.6 Bad
Free Study 11.6 really, really out of sync.

Guess I should stop submitting and voting!!!

OK! Where do you get your voting history?

Thanks
12/13/2006 03:39:16 PM · #9
You get your voting history for each challenge by looking at the challenge results by clicking on the challenge name, not on one of the thumbnails. This should bring up the first screen containing the top ten finishers. On the left side of the screen is a check box to order the finishers in your voting order. Then, just add up the finishers numbers and devide by 55.

Hope this helps

That gives me an 8.6 for Death. Though I admit to not knowing what your sum really means,

I thought that some of the lower placed death images were great and deserved more.

You must be one of those artsy types. lol

Life: 8.6
Death: 9.1

Oh and an 9.4 for life. I guess I really didn't agree with the masses on that one.

Ahh well. 'tis what makes this interesting that we vote differently.

James Bond: 9.6 Great result
Diagonal 19.3 Even better result
Free Study 29.8 Stupendous result

btw, your method skews higher for challenges with lots of entries.

Ah. I fail that then I suppose. 101 is the highest finisher in my bottom 10. Relief. Not a troll after all.

WRONG! A troll is anyone who votes below a six and your average clearly shows that you do. Troll troll troll! Burnination for you, pal.

And that's up on account of I've been voting all tens so I don't get a forum lashing from the legions of Proper & Honest Voting.

That's true--but I'm not sure why since I feel that the more entries, the more "regression to the norm" should occur.

Anyway, glad others are so out of sync also!

Why is it be important to be "in sync" with everyone else? We're all individuals, not clones. There's enough groupthink around here without some metric that measures conformity.

You can't say that!

How is this value skewed if you don't vote on all of the entries? What if you only vote on half, or the 20% minimum?
