This week's podcast is late in coming but better late than never, right? Er, yeah....

This week my co-host Laurie Gaddis (L2) interviews Adam Riggs from Shutterstock about the microstock industry. The show runs about an hour and fifteen minutes and feedback is always much needed!

A little bump for the morning crowd, and a bit more information. :)

Adam Riggs is the COO and CFO of Shutterstock.com, so we were able to get the "real" scoop from a highly placed executive. Adam is a wealth of information about the microstock industry in general, and gives some fantastic advice for the photographer considering whether to start selling micro vs. macro stock. On tap this week:

-A brief overview of the stock photography model; royalty-free versus rights-managed and the legal distinction between them.
-The types of images that sell well, and how to use keywords to increase sales.
-Career tracks for photographers in the stock sales industry.
-Insight as to why Shutterstock rejects images submitted for review.
-Discussion about buyer profiles for both the microstock and macrostock industry, and what is important to them when searching for images to buy.
-Response to criticism of the microstock model alleging that photographers devalue their work by selling at a low price point.
-How to increase sales and make even more money selling stock images.
-The future of the microstock industry.

Enjoy!

Sounds like a great interview, and one that should have very broad appeal. Be great if you could promote this interview outside DPC as well; it should have very general appeal.

iTunes is giving the same error.

Looks like the content in the XML RSS feed needs editing, as there's two copies of the nudiecast listed and the details of the microstock one are the same as the nudiecast too!

I'll be downloading this 'cast tonight, looks like an interesting one!

We are in the process of moving the podcast to a new server which should in turn provide us an opportunity to clear up the iTunes problems we are consistantly having. When iTunes is working properly, people could find the show for typing in keywords like "shutterstock" and those who never know about DPC could find us. Should be great once we get it working.

Haven't listened to this episode yet, but the Nudecast was very entertaining :-) Prolly the most I've laughed during a podcast yet.
