I've got a few comments on my Alone shot. not doing well but that's the breaks.
What confuses me is the comments.. out of 5, 1 say, great focus, 1 says too sharp and 1 says out of focus.
Now tell me, how can this be?
ooooooooo I'm getting such a headache.

I think there are some people that think, if a picture isn't at f16 from corner to corner, it's out of focus. I'm nearly blind so unless something is really blurred or if there is no point in the image that is sharp, I tend to think the photographer might have made the choice to focus selectively(sp). |

A lot of it comes down simply to personal choice.
In recent entries I have had, and in each case here for the same photo obviously:
Love the thin depth of field
Hate the thin depth of field
Love the hand
The hand spoils it
Great out of focus table
Table adds nothing
Etc etc etc (all paraphrased here).
None of those comments are wrong at all, just different people's views.
When I get mixed views like that, if evenly split, I am happy enough as my view is in there.
It is when I get a lot of people saying they don;t like one particular aspect, say DOF, that I going to re assess in more detail and probably adjust in the future (well, maybe adjust). |
