Last month I spent a week in Israel - one of the most interesting places in general, and for photography, in particular. It was a business trip, so I did not have too much time for photography, but still brought back a few :). Did not want to give away my challenge entries, but now the last Novemember challenge is over, so I can share a few photos in addition to my last three challenge entries

there are a few more here and yet more here

I recognized the Dead Sea shot just from the thumbnail : )

Looks like you got around quite a bit for only having a week -- nice work!

What great photos! My hubby and I are planning on visiting Israel next year. These are inspiring. The one of the limestone and the man kissing his camel are my favorites!

Thank Paul! ...all of them were actually taken in the span of a weekend in Jerusalem/Dead Sea, and a day in Tel-Aviv/Yafo on the way home).

It's a very tiny place -- you get a sense of how those folks could have walked from country to country way back when ...

I was lucky enough to have three weeks -- including about ten days with a car available -- but long before the days of digital. This scan of a photo from the Sea of Galilee is the only one I've kept track of ...

It is a tiny place.

The last time I was there about 10 years ago. Boy, this place has changed a lot: a shiny new airport, new skyrise buildings in Tel-Aviv, freeways everywhere. Isn't it amazing that people there manage to lead their live and prosper inspite of all the crazy stuff which happens literally at their doorstep on an almost daily basis.

On a downside: the Dead sea shrank A LOT in these 10 years: too much water is being taken for irrigation from the Jordan river (the only source of water for the Dead sea) by both Israel and Jordan. So if you want to see this wonder again, hurry up!
