When I vote a 3 suddenly a box pops up about commenting.

I really do not like that.

I like it even less that when I vote my next 3 right after that (just to test it) there is no box but I get a popup to please click ok on the reminder. A reminder that I cannot even see. I cannot continue to vote, unless I leave the current voting window and start a new one. Browsing with Firefox.

IMHO it is BS to show this reminder. You do not pop one up either to remind me to add a photo that I give a 10 to my favs either. I'd like a way to turn them off, IMO it is influencing votes to pop stuff up like that (next time I vote a 4 and not a 3 to avoid this annoying popup).

Or you could leave a comment.

When I vote a 3 the photo is not worth a comment. That is my opinion, my choice. Don't bother me with popups because I have a different opinion.

I'm confused, it happens on more than the first photo you vote a three or less?

Earlier thread on the new reminder window -- but I don't see the behavior you'r describing being mentioned.

The next photo it asks me to please click ok. Click ok on something something that did not pop up a second time and I already clicked ok the first time.

I can't tell much attitude by Azrifel's post. I'm surprised you could.

Is his vote worth any less when he doesn't leave a comment? Or him?

Seems to me that him voting honestly, and the site enabling him to vote honestly and not upping his vote to avoid annoyance would be more important than getting double-honesty through coercion.

I rarely vote 3's, or at all anymore, so I'd rather keep people who still have time to vote voting.

You couldn't? I thought it came across pretty clearly. His attitude to me seems like "well, I voted it a 3, I think it's a piece of poo, I'll not bother to leave any kind of constructive criticism that might help them improve, though, because it's not worth it".

YMMV.

But, there's a piece of truth in his statement. It's not nice to be forced to do something, especially when you didn't want to do it in the first place (like Az, because he doesn't think the entries are worth it, or like me, because I always comment after voting every photo)

Oh well.

What's YMMV?

Your Mileage May Vary, sort of a loose usage of the colloquialism though.

Your milage may vary. basically means... your experience may be different.

True. Although it's one pop-up so it's not really forcing anything.

YMMV = Your Mileage May Vary, or you may have a different experience / view.

You do not now my voting criteria.

When you get a three or less from me, the photo is indeed poo. And poo of a kind that I really wonder if you are serious by entering it, if you ever took the time to look at your own photo to see if it is worth a 3+, if you ever took the time to browse one single page on a site or read a bit in a book about photography to improve yourself or to be able to selfcritique your own work. Do I really have to point that out each time? A 3 says enough imo. So indeed I do not feel bothered to leave any kind of constructive criticism on it.
And what I really do not need is a reminder that urges me to leave a comment, tells me about rules violations or meeting a challenge. After 68700 votes with an average of 5.5+ I really know what I am doing and why I am doing it.

I'm glad you cleared that up. When I first seen the new set of acronyms my first thought of was:
YMMV= "you make me vomit" uggggg!

So glad you cleared that up... LOL

Now there's an interesting compromise on this. Only show the reminder for those who have voted less than a specific amount total (not for that challenge only). If after several hundred votes (500 is a good number I think) if a persons voting trends haven't set off any of the alarms that are in place then I agree, they probably know what they are doing.
