Anyone know off hand what the record is for number of entries in a challenge?

We're at 293 for the alone challenge, with a few hours still left!

Looks like it will hit 300+

Anything over 150 is too many... when the challenges get that large, i just skim the photos and don't pay particular attention to anything that doesn't jump out at me on first glances.

Would a picture of the Alone challenge with 300+ entries qualify for the Irony challenge? ;)

The "In the Garden" challenge had 352 entries. There may be others with more.

That's a pile of photos to vote on. I hope no one here is banking on a discrete aspect of their photo getting them a ribbon.

that's the truth.. It's going to be very hard to vote on all of them.
Guess it's figure out what is 20% and try and do that many with a critical eye.

I really hate just skimming and clicking. Doesn't seem fair.

I like to take my time when I vote, but sometimes unless I am really "grabbed" by a picture it goes pretty quickly..

I guess the only way to get a vote or comments is to have a good thumbnail ;)

I will vote for all of them. Will take some time. Certainly not all at one time. Some tonite, then the rest at various times during the week.

All I know is that I think I'll take a break from voting for this challenge. I'm too busy and there's just too much to evaluate properly. Maybe I'll do a bit more than 20%, that's it.

its at 311.
I was gonna enter one, but think I'll pass on it.
I'm not gonna be able to vote on them all, no need making it harder with another possibly average photo.

I think you have enough time in 1 week to vote for 330 pictures. I think it will be definitively not fair to skim!!

I know I don't have time. I'll only vote for maybe half. It would only be unfair were I to vote for a few, then give the rest 1's. Through the magic of random selection and averages, it's still "fair" as long as I vote honestly on those I do vote for.

But you're going to vote for some pictures just because they will be choosen ramdomly, and other will not have this chance. As a consequence, all the pictures will not receive appreciations from a same point of view, which I think is not fair. But I understand that everyone cannot vote for all the pictures.

Why the hell would people vote for a few and then give the rest a 1? It's just as easy to give the rest 5 or 10. If people can't make time to vote on all the entries fair enough, but don't deliberately vote low just to say you voted.

I always find it amazing how people find time to complain on the forums but not to vote.

I agree, giving a photo a 1 just for the sake of voting is silly. People will soon complain when their photo get 50 1's. There is another thread talking about this.

Vote what you think the photo is worth, otherwise dont vote!
