I got my new Digital SLR Camera. :) This is my first Digital SLR so I am very excited. I made my hubby give it to me before Christmas. I could not wait.

Congratulations!! You're in for a world of good times. Have a blast - shoot everything - learn - shoot more. Enjoy!

Bear, dear, make sure you invite Patrick and the too-tall gymnastics teacher to dinner. :-)

Linda, enjoy that house in Alaska - your wildlife shots are wonderful!

To everyone else getting themselves cool stuff, quitting jobs (woo hoo! and best of luck to you!), and getting cool stuff for others, YAY!

I bought a lovely down coat. It be colder here than in Texas.... Other than that, I plan to buy a computer desk, a chair, and a desk lamp tomorrow so when my computer gets delivered to my newly leased apartment/row-house place, I'll have something to put it on. I'll also eventually pick up a sewing machine but that can wait a bit. As for camera stuff? This place I'm renting has a couple of possibilities for a pseudo studio kinda thing (it's got way more rooms than I need), so maybe I'll have to learn about lights. But I'd also have to find models and stuff...

Just seeing that my kids get what they need and occasionally what they want is good enough of a gift for me. I like to see them happy. :)

Should have used UPS - I'm pretty sure they could deliver it faster than "a couple of months". :-)

Don't think there is anything I really want for myself. Just hope sherpet has good news with Pete.

Perhaps, those who can afford a little, can give something to Cancer Research UK and equivalent in US

Man...I was all set to ''bite the bullet" and purchase a Nikon D80 with all the bells and whistles. My brother who is a professional photographer has always had Nikon cameras and is presently working in Morocco. I asked him which lenses he would buy and he promptly told me that if he had to do it all over again, he would get a Canon 30D.....
Now all I have to do is make a decision.....hmmmmmmmmmm.

My good friend just upgraded from a Canon XT to a Canon XTi. I am buying his XT at a price I just can't refuse! Now I will be able to compete in both Nikon and Canon team competitions!
