Well,, I was wrong.
I submitted the wrong image to the Lighting challenge. My shot, Respect, as submitted, did indeed have illegal editing done to it.

Shoot... The image I intended to send did not.

My apologies to all for doing this. I can only say it was a mistake I promise to be more careful in the future.
JC

this is what I thought I had uploaded.

It is a tribute to a close friend that was killed in Austin last week.
These are her boots.

Looks like the same image that was in the challenge, which means to me that this was just an honest mistake. No big deal, don't be embarrassed.

Don't sweat it. Being so absent-minded it's a wonder I haven't done the same already. LOL!

Really sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. I'm sure she'd be proud of the picture you took.

Thanks everyone..

I think she would like it too..
I had borrowed them to do this shot, which I already had in mind for the challenge.

I shot it the day she died... killed by a teenager drag racing down 360 in Austin Texas. Hit her car so hard it rolled 7 times.
The saving grace of it is she died instantly.

Ah the vageries of life.. Guess I was so upset I just didn't pay attention to what I was doin when I uploaded it.

I appreciate everyone understanding that mistakes do happen.

Oh yeah, and I do actually know how to spell apology!

That is so sad sslickk. Makes it even worse that the shot had to be DQ'd. I'm so sorry for your loss.

sslickk, first, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. That's such a terrible thing.

Second, don't be embarrassed and don't feel bad. 'Stuff' happens. You have been honest and cooperative and you should be commended for that. You've handled it very well.

Just curious what you were trying to do with the pic? I saw it and was actually one who questioned it. (Sorry 'bout that) I love the shot, it's awesome, and am wondering what you were doing with it.

ahh,, it's rather hard to explain the motives behind the shot.

For some people, their boots are an extension of themselves.
Whether you have a heavy step or light.

My friend was one of those with a light step. She tread softely upon this mortal coil, even in those biker boots.

I was trying to express that appearances can be decieving, that we only see a small portion of a person and many times fail to see the whole.

That if we look close enough and hard enough maybe we will glimpse more than just those aspects that may out shine the more subtle parts of a being.

Thank you, for your interest. You were right to question it, very appropriate.

Given the scores it was showing, I guess many were voting it low because of the illegal treatment.

emorgan,, thank you for the 10 that means alot.

sslickk, thanks for your response. I'm sorry, I worded my question poorly. What I was trying to ask was, what were you trying to edit? I was just curious what you were working on (in the image you actually submitted). I really like the original image, that's why I'm asking what you were trying to change. Sorry about that.

no prob.. I was playing around seeing if it looked "better" if I manually darkened the background. It didn't and why I didn't just delete that image I'll never know.

I was so upset I wasn't tracking real well, and got the two confused.

Thanks, that's what I was wondering. I still like the original the best. Very nice.

I get mad at myself when I don't pay attention too...but I never learn! ;-)

I usually rename the entry one because I confuse my entry one and my super Photoshopped one. It's good to download to check it out on the site.Just to see how it looks.

Some people might take a hundred shots of the same image and see which one looks better on the site.

I know on my "Oops" entry I took way more then a hundred shots. Looking at thumbnails of so many shots that look the same, you forget which one is the one you wanted to submit.

On your entry I keep playing with my contrast and my brightness on my moniter. Darkening it really made the picture look good.
