Im not one of those techy type of guys that can make fantastic websites ( I wish i was) but I have put together a very humble place for my work and to advertise. I wanted to keep it simple easy to use and fast to load. the only thing that annoys me is the links float about on the page i wanted them slightly left and stationary... oh well.. any input appreciated thanks

Add a link to get back to the gallery choice to the galleries.
Also, thumbs all but leave my screen on portrai oriented photographs. People with 1024x768 and not so sleek browsers might not be able to see the thumbnails at all anymore.
I don't know whether you gallery allows this, but if you want pictures to load quickly, you might want to preload them, i.e. all pictures will load while the visitors are still looking at the first ones. (If you don't know what I'm talking about have a look at //gloda.net ).

i like an about page with an artist statement. i also like to be able to switched galleries from each page and not have to back page to every thing to see your other galleries.
to contact might be nice to have a phone and an email rather than an auto to outlook link.
is hanae a model in many of your pages? yeah femme fatale!

A few simple fixes..
As far as your splash page goes and the alignment of the text I would recommend a table or two.
One table to center the whole page, because on larger resolutions it will load in the upper left. And another table to center your text if that's how you want it.
Your website code (The stuff between your tags)
|
|
As it is now your tags are centering your links in the center of the page and not the center of your image, because you're using your image as your background (default alignment for that is upper left). If your image were the background of a table you'd have control over where your text goes and would be able to change the background color of your page to better blend with your next pages.
The transition from your splash page to the pages with all your photos could be smoother. To make it really simple you might want to change the background color of your splash page from white to the color you use on the photo pages.
I also agree with the other poster about having better navigation options from within the photo pages.
I really hope this makes some sense. As I was trying to help you I kept realizing new things about why things were doing what they were, heh. I'll watch the thread and try and explain better if you have questions.

Im sure it will be totally making sense in a day or two.. I literally started to build the site today and I know NOTHING about coding but Im up for learning and trying different things. the tables sound like a good idea.
Thank you for the guidence |

Same here. Also, when I look at some the photos (portrait mode) the thumbnails drop off the screen and I'm currently set at 1440 x 900.

i would recomend getting a program called dreamweaver its made by adobe, its expensive, but you may be able to find a copy "on the ground". Writing a site by hand is great to learn stuff, but to make a professional design those programs mak it a lot easier.

When you're learning tables I find it very helpful to put the border value to 1.
example:
This basically turns the borders on. You can then see where your table cells are and what they're trying to do.
The table I posted for you is very simple though. It gets complicated once you start adding multiple cells and rows. I've spent many many hours with my head in my hands staring at tables wondering why they're not doing what they should be doing, heh.
For now I wouldn't suggest going out and buying expensive programs if you're trying to keep things simple. They'll give better results, but you have to ask yourself if it's worth the money for your situation. Dreamweaver is awesome, but is almost $250. There are cheaper webediting programs however. Even some free ones though I can't vouch for how good they are.
When I taught myself HTML I just used online tutorials. Webmonkey.com is where I learned back in the day. Once I got the hang of the basics it was faster for me to handcode stuff in Notepad, than to use the editing program I was provided at work.
