OK, this one won't be easy for me, since I only have one surviving grandparent, but I do love good portraits (especially emotive) of elderly people.

So...

This is a great challenge for a few reasons:

1.results are always going to be interesting, the subjects will infuse a history without much effort
2.there are so many varients in terms of composition
3.the challenge will force us to approach people outside our usual comfort zones (for those with no familiar elderly people available for portraits). In a recent challenge I made the effort and approached a stranger to ask if I could take their photograph...I was nervous, apologetic and awkward...but it was ground-breaking for me. I learnt SO much in those few minutes...next time will do it better!

I love this idea ... wondering what age would be considered "elderly" though ... it seems that it would have a different meaning depending on the age of the photographer ...

While, I do agree that it does depend on the age of the photographer, I doubt a photo of me shot by an 8 year old would score well :-)

I left the description blank, because I'd rather see the artists' interpretation of elderly rather than an imposed interpretation.

I love this idea!

Recently, a photographer went to a nursing home I'm familiar with and took pictures of all the residents...and gave 5x7 prints to everyone who participated. The shots wound up in the local newspaper as a Lifestyle feature. The residents adored the attention, and it turned out to be a great experience for everyone. The nursing home was so appreciative they framed the pix and they now hang on the walls as artwork.
