Hi Lisa!

Great site - I love how it is easy to navigate and I didn't have to scroll around to see the shots.

Couple of things, you got a looooooot of legal mumbo jumbo on there. Why? Also, the front page has square blocks of nothing, show me pix! All the other thumbs go somewhere, so fill those babies up!

This site is very well organized and was quick to load for me in both IE7 and Mozilla. I'd take out the fish shot on This and That as I know you have many other awesome pix that would represent your talent a bit better.

Lastly, you might consider a contact form in addition to the mail-to feature. Not everyone uses an e-mail program that will work with it (Internet based e-mail comes to mind). If you do go with a contact form, make sure it has some sort of validation in it. The code for a contact form is all over the Internet and should be very easy to find.

Oh yeah, one more thing toots. Are you trying to solicit more business, show off your pix, or sell prints? If there was a buy prints option, I didn't see it right away.

I lied, I have one more thing -- I'm told a key feature on websites is an About Me page. I'm lazy about that one myself, but just something to consider.

Good job, sweetness!

I like it it's accessible and looks good.

I second the vote for having a web form on your contact page for people to get in touch. You then allow for the whole experience to take place within the browser.

Had a quick look.
Everything comes up really quickly, it's well set out and easy to navigate.
I love your seascapes and some of your more adventuraous portraits!
Are you doing photography for a living?

Very nice looking site. The only thing I would suggest is a slideshow capability on each section.

I love it. One of the easiest photography sites to navigate I've seen. As L2 said, theere might be to much legal stuff. Better to keep it simple. Some people tend to get 'scared off' when they don't understand something.

When you hit a specific image on the front page, it should go to that image in detail rather than the collections it's in (not sure if simpleviewer allows that).

I think the legal stuff is fine but I would not give it the importance of a main item - put it with the copyright note in small font.

What about having nicer names for the images than "example_1.jpg" actually title the images, rather than just using your indexing system.

Just a nit-picky detail

Mark

edit- do you want people to be able to download the images off of the web page (currently they can)

thank you all so much for looking. I will talk to Rob about making the Legal info smaller and put under the copyright sign.

L2 - The coloured blocked, I wanted just as decoration. I love the colours and I thought about having them do stuff but I may consider it down the track. I guess I should consider a About Me section but I dont know what I would write (not real good with that kind of stuff) so that may wait too lol. I forgot we were going to add a buy prints option. I will remind him :) Thanks for all that hon

Bood - I am trying to make this my living (even if it is part time for now while I learn more) The opportunity came up for me to have a free domain name and hosting so I figured I may as well take advantage of that.

Anyone else?

Lisa

1 more thing. When I make my site, would you mind me patterning it after yours?

Nice 'n clean, Lisa. I'm not fond of the navigational arrows superimposed on the images, though. And I'd prefer them to have more descriptive titles.

I'll second what Bear said about the superimposed arrows. I hate that. Also I don't know why you'd put the photoname.jpg unless you wanted to have users reference a photo for purchase? There are better ways you might to that, though, and I think it's a bit tacky.

Other than that though nice job. Great use of flash.

Oo. Well no worries then. I really don't think its major, just kindof a pet peeve of mine ;)
