My Wind entry didn't do too well. I'm guessing a lot of it was that it didn't say "wind" strongly. Fair enough.

As a photo independent of the challenge, I'd like to improve it so I can print it to keep.

So - how would you change it to improve it (again, ignoring the wind idea)? I mean in post, not retaking it. For example, there's some noise in the houses across the street and in the silhouettes.

Anything else?

I did a very minor edit to your photo. I think you were going for a silhouette and so I increased the contrast a bunch and increased the saturation to give it a more orange feel. This gets rid of some of the 'clutter' in the background from the very dark houses and trees.

But in all honesty, I would have reshot the photo and got rid of the tree above your heads. IMHO -it is distracting to the photo. Also, I would have tried to do the shot from a lower angle and had more of the sky and the height of the adult in the picture.

Not sure if it helped.
Good luck

I'd tend to like to see it re-shot, without the trees that mix up with the child's silhouette. In fact, I'd like to see it re-shot without the houses or the tree. Just the silhouettes of the two people and nothing else. Get out in a field, get down low, shoot it against a similar colored sky would make a much stronger, more graphic image that I think would be a lot more powerful. I read the info and realised she's hanging, not being swung by her arms - maybe a higher tree with a bit more separation between her and the branches - one way or another get the tree out of the shot and get down low to clean up the landscape.

However, ignoring that, I'd consider bringing up the black point in levels and losing all of the shadow detail - make them more complete silhouettes.

I like the concept. Doesn't really say 'wind' though. Much more about father/daughter relationships.
