Just finnished my Food challenge, now enjoying the the taste of this good-looking food. I had to resist for two hours to finnaly get my dinner, it was tempting, but you cannot eat your subject during photoshoot :)

I enjoyed this challenge very much, I'm looking forward to see others submissions.

This is the first challenge in months I'm not entering.
I really hope we get a good extra challenge soon that involves post-editing.
To be honest, I find this challenge a bit pointless.

With such a username, many of us were hoping for something spectacular.

I saw you're waiting ages for a editing challenge :)

I allways wanted this food challenge, I often liked the photos in good cook books and was wondering if I can make this kind of photo.

Oh wanna bet. LOL I had to redo my subject 4 times. First the item garnishing it disappeared then the subject disappeared. The second subject the dog came in stole my subject right off the plate. Then the cat had her turn at the plate. But finally I did suceed.

So you are abdicating your responsibility to ensure there's an obligatory cat photo submitted regardless of challenge definition?

My wife came home from work and ate my submission subject while I was in the bathroom....

fortunately, I made 6 times as much as I needed.... and then ooooo what a feast!

napkin anyone.

I really enjoyed this one, and I too, have been hoping for a chance to try some food styling.

I saw a document about food photography and how to style a food to look good in commercials, but that is not a food anymore. They used all kinds of chemicals and colors to style it. You know you will never get a BigMac that looks like the one on the photo on the panel :)

I didn't go that far, mine was quite eatable.

I can relate to theses problems. I have cooked more this week than in a whole year, first subject was fixed, left the room , came back and hubby was standing and watching the tv in the kitchn chowing down! Second, turned to get something out of the frig, son was devouring the 2nd subject....no more food challenges please!! :) sincerely exhausted cook....lol

They do terrible things to food to make it look yummy in books and on tv. I have a friend that is a food stylist (no I didn't consult her) in Kansas City. They do the oddest things.

She always has a refrigerator full of left over, usually uncooked items. One time I looked in and there were 18 dozen hardboiled eggs.

Took alot to get a perfect one for a single shot.

I cooked about 6 servings, but only used about 2-3 servings for my shoot. It took about 2 hours with a coulpe of breaks in between. The food got a little dry so i had to spray it down with a water bottle to get the fresh look again (LOL). I took about 200 pictures. Im still trying to get used to my Sony F717 and all the manual settings (HEADACE) but its worth every bit of it.

Good thing it wasn't a "Fear Factor" food challenge. In case your not in the U.S. It's a game show in which they eat weird and exotic things. Most likely if you don't know what "Fear Factor" is the food is not weird and exotic in your country.
