Now that Free Studies seem to be here to stay would it be a good idea to increase the voting time to 2 weeks and the submission time to 2 months?
This should mean an even better quality of submissions and more time to get through the large numbers of entries.

Are you ready to vote on 1600 images? Just a question. |

I think one week is plenty of time to vote through, if not the entire field, a very large chunk of it. I don't really understand what the point of a two-month Free Study would be. ? |

not me...
2 weeks of voting, hmm I don't know. Most of the voting happens in the first 2-3 days, after that people "have" to concentrate on the other challenges. |

Two weeks isn't going to make me finish voting any more than one week does but then again I don't like all these free studies in general. Once in a while is fine but all the time just makes it a stat padder, IMO.

Oh you also said extend the submission period two months? What's the point of that? We already have that since they keep trotting out free studies each month.

I think a free study every month gets a bit boring. It used to be a surprise-challenge, I miss that now. |

I love the Free Studies! Makes for a nice change from the constant discussion about whether a shot did or didn't meet the challenge.

Someone on SC (I think Scalvert, maybe kirbic) tracked his votes the one time we had extended voting. It turned out that the vast majority of votes were cast in week one. The extended time was neglible. |

no chance 620 shots is enough for me, maybe an extra day for voting if there is a particularly large number of entires though. |
