Now I have a camera but no lense.
I have about $200. Can someone give me a suggestion as to a good versitile lense I could get for that?
I want a lense that you would use for general photography. No specialty lenses. I'll get them when I have more money. :-P If I ever get more money. |

I love my Sigam 70-300mm F4-5.6 lens, except for the missing low end. I carry the kit Nikon 18-70 F3.5-4.5 with me to cover it. You might look at a Sigma 28-200mm F3.5-5.6 lens for $249 USD. The 70-300 is $219.00. There is also a 28-300 for $279 USD. Tamron has similar lenses for a little more. Nikon does as well.
If you can wait and afford it and find it to buy it get the Nikon 18-200mm with VR....I have had no luck in any parts of the equation. Nikon has a new lenses out as well but they are just not in mine price range right now....I would love to get the new 70-300mm Nikon with VR.
Good luck!

I, if I were you, would get the 50mm 1.8 it is a must have anyway and it is under $100.00. It is a prime but makes beautiful pictures. I think it would be a good start and you could save for a zoom. At the very least it gets you shooting with that fine new Nikon! |
