I know this has been covered but I can't find the threads. I am having trouble saving my entry to Free Study at 150k or below. I have PS CS2 and have the JPEG compression down to 4 and it is 168kb. I don't want it that low because I need the color in my photo. Can I get some advise or a link to the previous thread? Thanks!!!!!!!!

Use the "Save for Web" command and set the file size to 150K. CS2 will automatically optimize it for you. Also, make sure your color space is set to sRGB. There are several tutorials under the "learn" command bar on the site that will walk you through this process.

resize for web

no way you have it sized to 640px for it to be 168 at 4 right?

the best way is to size it to 640 on the longest side then save for web. when in the save for web click the little arrow on the right then click optimize to file size and selct 150. it will mkae it the best possible compression.

edit: man 3 posts while i was typing, you guys are fast

THANKS!!!!!

I have been working in PS since version 3 but sometimes I feel stoopid. :) Working with high res files for print is soooo much easier.

Thanks again!
