Well, there are no trains or railroads in Newfoundland....the government in its wisdom got rid of them all back in the 80's and promised us bigger, better highways. Guess what, we still don't have good highways. There are a few railroad museums around, maybe I will drive to one of them and get a picture. Doubt it.

For the first time in my life I am happy to have railroad tracks only 2 blocks from my house. I probably won't even get mad when I have to wait for trains at the crossing. Which on average for me is about 5 to 6 times per week.

In the town where I work it's not uncommon to get a train or two just going across town. It's insane how many trains we have here. But they're boring trains so I probably will use my other idea if it works out.

Hmmm. I like this one. Surely I can come up with something, heck, I have 15-20 trains a day passing 200 feet from my back door!
Had a good opportunity for this challenge last week... on the way to work I saw two tow trucks trying to extract a car from under a boxcar at a crossing.

Awwww, a subject that I can finally sink my teeth into! My town is all about railroad/trains...I need to break that 6.0 thresh hold someday! Maybe this is the ONE!! *jumping up and down for joy*....and hope....

what kinda train? won't it be unbearably noisy?
I imagine you living in some darkened alleys in some futuristic gloomy city... like Gotham, heh

it didn't say "no toy trains" lol... but be prepared to get hammered with toys. They naturally dont score very well with the DPC crowd

I don't really have a choice (well I could just not enter but thats no fun). There was going to be a train line built through my part of the world in the late 1800's but that only got as far as one smart pub owner calling his establishment the "railway hotel" in the expectation that there would be a train station accross the road in the near future - 100 years later it's still got the same name but the train line was never built.

actually if you are able to get a "deliciously" done toy-train photo, why not just give that a shot? :)

Oh, this is a challenge that I will enjoy. We have a new train that goes through our city. I can't wait to go take some pictures of it. It is suppose to look really neat.

My yard is a train museum thanks to my landlord. I love this challenge. Plus train runs 400 yards from my house 4 times a day. Sweet.

Darn day job. :-( We had a derailment in town today... Sigh.

I think there will be alot of photographers from Iceland that will take a weekendtrip abrod this weekend to find some railroads... at least I am happy right now living in Stockholm at the moment.

But still I don't like challenge where not everybody can submit... last week I could not enter the Woody or the Ducky challenge because I don't own Ducky or Woody. So I think twe should all try to have more of challenges that everybody can submit to where ever they live in the world.

Today I saw and joined this site. What a coincidence that I just took photos of trains! I am a complete novice and any advice would be appreciated.

The local one here has train rides on Saturday. I already have permission to come hours earlier when they start firing the boilers...

But I already have something I like so I'll probably go just for fun.

OK, I need some opinions...I am scared to enter a commuter train, or a subway, for fear of getting hammered with DNMC...
But I kinda have good luck with subway shots....

I don't know what to do...should I risk it?
