I need some help or advice. I have an Epson Photo 820 printer. I use only Epson inks and I have a real problem with the color on my screen being the same as the printer. I have gone throught the color setup on the monitor, however my prints always seem to have a red/purple tint to them when printed. At work I have an HP 830 that without any setup, prints photos very near the screen colors. Is there something I am missing? Is anyone else having this problem with their Epson? Does my printer need repair maybe? Thanks for any comments.

I have an epson 780. When I print a picture I use either Epson paper or Kodak Premium paper. Most papers come with a spec sheet in the package to customize your printer for best results. I get great results this way

Its worth spending the time to set up a colour managed work flow, so that you know what you see is as close to what you expect to get.
To do this, you need software that is aware of profiles, and also you need printer profiles for the particular printer/ ink/ paper combination you are using.
You really need your monitor calibrated too, otherwise you are starting from a random point and have no idea of what colours you are really sending to the printer to compare.

Thanks all,
I was afraid of the calibration issue. I have seen the Spider I think it is called, but it is so expensive. I consistently use Epson Glossy premium paper. It should work well. Thanks for the insight.
