Have to say I liked most of 'em, actually. It wasn't a strong challenge for "ohmygoshwhatabeautifulpicture!" but it was an interesting challenge with some good variety in ways people see wind and what it does.
And Don, I just reread my comment on your bokeh shot and I have to say it's a bit harsh - I'll try to clarify what I was trying to say later. (For some reason my access at work sometimes makes it nearly impossible to comment on pictures.) Did I guess your wind pic correctly? If so, it really should be scoring much higher than your bokeh. |

You weren't harsh at all. I was shoe-horning it into the challenge. I have a strange affection for the shot, but that's probably the same feeling you get for an old pair of shoes. That's no reason to make everybody smell them!
And yes, you guessed my wind. Which means you should NOT vote on it (if you read her comment, you would know why I was saying this hahahahaha). I'm currently rocking a 3.7 on that pic, but amazingly my free study and landscape have both crawled their way up to even 5s.

Could use some comments on my landscape! I am in Neon Signs and Long Exposure for next week, and have one possibility for the free study.

Eh, too late, I already voted. I didn't help you pick the shot, nor process it, nor any of that stuff, and I often recognize the work of folks around here these days. I know of at least two others just by who/what is in them.
And I find your Wind entry strangely interesting. I think with that one you have a series of three (that I know of) that need to be printed and matted as a triptych, or however that's spelled. |

I have so far offended 2 of my 9 commenters (I don't think that is a word) with my photo & title!! Whooo Hooo I think they gave me 1's only because we don't have 0's. I'll show them I may yet pull a 5.5 out of this one.

My better picture is plummeting, and the one I thought would land in the 4.1 range is steadily rising.. DPC voters confound me sometimes.

I went to a workshop on color management yesterday and it seems that just about everything I have been doing (relying on default color management settings in camera & ps2) is wrong. Of course, that still doesn't explain focus and exposure and being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Way to go, Mary! Have you posted any of the shots in your portfolio here? |

"Long Beach Island" at Race Street Cafe-before any gets in a tizzy this is a not so great of scan a b&w negative. The silver print is fantastic.
The other is under my portfolio as City Hall(0464).jpg - it's too painful to thumbnail here. This is in the Adams Gallery at the University of Pennsyvlania |

Right.place.time is a Java-based add-on expected to launch in 2099. ;)

I'm not sure what the real world is but I probably try to avoid it as much as possible.
The short answer - through who you know. I am taking 2 photography classes right now-a digital 101 class and a fine b&w printing class. Both instructors knew about opportunities for showings and I obeyed. I also promised to bake cookies for them if they see other shows coming up and let me know about it.

It's possibile in the future I may be selling b&w prints to help support a nonprofit darkroom. Actually, I am more likely to buy other people's prints. |

Scores in self portrait may count for the unofficial suck challenges, but don't count for self esteem purposes. You in? I'm in. |

I took some photos and am downloading them from the camera now. If any of them came out ok, I'm in.

Sadly, if I give everybody 10s it'll delete my scores. But I'm probably going to limit this one to 7-10 as a scoring range. :-) |

I'm in self portrait!
That means really low scores.
I'm so ugly that I am sure to get low scores, so look and learn. The master of suck strikes again.
