Don't take it so hard. Even if you're not a congressman, you can still have congress. You just have to buy them dinner first.

Deb is bored. I rode my bike, did a load of laundry (this happens frequently when one only has enough clothes to last a few days), washed my one fork, one spoon, one knife, two coffee cups, and the blender, and played three games of Weboggle.

So here's an idea, fellow suckees... pick one of your recent challenge entries, post it here, and post why you like it or don't, and if any comments you received or post-challenge thoughts have made you see it differently, or made you want to change something about it. And "what were you thinking?"

Here's mine:

I happen to like the way the light hits the wall in the evening in the room facing the setting sun. I like the blinds. So I set up Woody and took a few shots. I liked it. I processed the heck out of it because I also happen to like monochromatic pictures and high-contrast pictures. I entered it.

I also stuck it on my desktop at home as my wallpaper. As the week went on, it totally grew on me. Depending on my mood, I see him as either proud and sure, or terribly lonely, lost and forlorn. It amazes me how much one can read into a picture of a stick guy.

Not sure I'd change anything about it, to tell you the truth.

Anyone else?

Here's what I entered:

I had just found the woody that day, and I rushed to make a shot. Unfortunately I could not get the metal bar and the base removed, and it was evening so I couldn't hide them in the grass.

Here's a better one (I hope)

I paid more attention to how this shot was lit, and used a better looking duck, and didn't include the base in the picture. Thoughts?

How do you remove the bar from the woody? I tried pulling on one of mine and it was pretty solid. In fact it felt like it would rip the woody apart if it came out.

Seems like at least half of the commenters didn't get the title reference. J. Edgar Hoovered out of the national consciousness?

I feel like whining a bit. Usually something this low means DNMC?

Don't know much. I looked through the lighting pictures once and couldn't really make much of a decision about what was good and what wasn't (in the context of the challenge, NB). I imagine that a successful entry should have lighting as a major element that strikes the viewer pretty much instantly. Then again, shouldn't all pictures have that?

You have a very nice whine. Vintage, really.

I'm just barely above you. I met the challenge, just in a really sucky way.

All this talk about genitalia and congress made me think about whatever happened to Monica Lewinsky's blue dress?

I might give this puppy its own thread, along with the original to show the processing I did. I liked how the exit/entrance ramps create an ornamental sort of shape. Everything I did in cropping and processing was to emphasize that shape, and juxtapose it with the sun. xion alarmed me a bit when he said the sky was oversharpened. I could have masked the sky from the sharpen filter, but decided that I wanted the sky to be as slick as possible. I think I'll try the sky less sharp and see how that looks. Looking at the image again on my flatscreen, he may be right.

On my flatscreen, the sky is definitely over sharpened. Other than that, it looks great!

Woody is looking unusually lost and forlorn, even sad today. Why? My car has decided it likes to randomly shut itself off. This is not a good thing, particularly when in traffic. So far, I can restart it and it's fine, but when it shuts itself off I lose steering and brakes - not so fine. Then I went out for lunch and ordered chicken with an extra bisquit. Do you think I got that extra bisquit? Of course not. And I'm the idiot who keeps trying - I don't think I've ever actually received the extra bisquit at any time when I've paid for it. Oh, and instead of a wing and a breast, I got two wings. I can say that I don't think I'll be visiting that particular establishment again. I'm slow, but after awhile I catch on....

No scores to report - they're still off so my mood doesn't get any further into the gray zone... Here's hoping my bokeh entry doesn't suck too much!

hm... maybe chickens just don't like you.

There are 52 "After the Game" entries and 308 "Bokeh III" entries. I have an entry in Bokeh and I'm not even sure what Bokeh is. I'm doomed. Maybe I should shoot something tonight for After the Game but it will be dark and cold and there are probably weird people on the ball fields at night excluding me. Decisions, decisions.

I should not read the bokeh threads-about bokeh what it is and isn't and whether it is good or bad. I think I'll sit down and have a cup of tea tonight instead.

I'm hoping my bokeh picture lands in the top 300..

Well, I'm definitely in the running for the brown ribbon in Trains.

But I really like my Bokeh and Free Study entries. That's a setup for strong emotions one way or the other ...

My bokeh has circles. I'm doomed. :-(

AND chickens don't like me.

Oh, and in Train I might get top 10 or even higher. :)

Hey - who let you onto Team Suck? A 5.8 AND a possible top ten? Dude, that so does NOT suck... Not even close!

Hey, lay off my novice homey Giorgio. Novices are allwed occasionally non-sucky effects on account of beginner's su - er - luck.
Also, could be they have real trains in Romania.
Actually, I'm on more than 4.5 with the train thing, so Giorgio's drawing heat.
