Here is a whack ideaâ€Â¦

When I am having a hard time with a challenge concept or picking a photo for submission, I tend to go to a friend of mine to bounce stuff around. That then precludes him from voting on my shots, but the dialogue is very helpful for me.

To push that notion even further
AND
offer another opportunity for learning and improving here at DPC
AND
to create additional opportunities to interact positively with folks here couldâ€Â¦

Something be set up where folks declared that they would not be participating in one of the two challenges and then fall into a “helper pool” where folks could go and ask for someone in that pool to kick around some conversation about possible submission photos?

Does what I am saying make any sense? What do you think?

Since I'm rarely entering challenges at all anymore, I'd love to be a part of this "helper pool" idea.

Laurie is a good example of a willing photo artist... talented, yet volunteers to help out the rest of us. All we have to do is ask.

Great idea. Even if they do help you out in some way, don't weigh what they say too heavily if your photo doesn't do well in the challenge. I did that with one of mine and it hung around the 5.00xx area...at first I was like, Darn you, so and so. But, I took it, I processed it, all I got was a little direction and advice.

On the flip side, if it does do well, be sure to thank the person who helped you, because what they said might have given it that extra oomph.

If I can provide a little push in the right direction then just ask. Always willing to advise.
