So it seems I've somehow become a wedding photographer. No idea how it happened, but here is proof...I think it was my 10th of the year or something.

Ridiculous. I already HAD a job. I didn't need this one too.

Anyway this is a slide show of the most recent one I just finished editing...thought I'd share if anyone cares to see it.

P

*edited to add - it's a monster file...you's gonna have to be patient if you's wantsta watch it.

Congratulations! Have you considered wrapping the bride's face in fishing line for some specialty photos? ;-)

I can't view the video because of a codec issue, but I'm sure the pictures look great.

That's a pretty good sized video @ 51mb. I'm sure its awesome but I'll post back once I see it. That many weddings is a HUGE job especially if you have a full-time job already.

Man those are awesome! They look as if they were straight out of a wedding magazine! Keep up the GREAT work.

That's some amazing work. The thought of trying to constantly be that good for a one time event like a wedding gives me the hebie-jebies! Amazing...

I skipped after about 10 minutes but the photography is outstanding. Great job and you had some very interesting compositions. I liked the shallow DoF shots with the bride/groom offset from each other and I liked the shots in front of the old building on the wooden sidewalk (especially where the bridal party mime'd running). One thing that stood out was how great those models are. You're right to "keep 'em to yourself". They both had their eyes wide open throughout, presented you with great expressions and they're both photogenic. Your comments at the end of the video are pretty funny and seem to show that you had a fun interaction with the couple. Great job and as a person who's shot that many weddings and more while holding down a "regular" job, holy cow, dude; get some rest.

Once again P, these are truly first-rate.
The classic poses are good, but the laughing, happy, smiling candids are nothing short of perfection to capture the emotion in the moment.
I would have quit my day job if I thought I could do half as well.

Yes, it was very hard on me with such difficult and unattractive models. ;) As you could probably tell from the photos, they were about as boring as they were unattractive. I think we pretty much laughed from the moment I took the lens cap until the moment I had filled the last CF card.

(I'm pretty sure a trained chimp could have made that group look good)

Hmmm...rest...rest...? Nope, not ringing a bell. Isn't that something that happens in the dead of winter when no one around here gets married?

You can. maybe you should?

thanks for the comments, y'all. Now I'm just waiting for the reaction of the Bride and Groom...

You shouldn't have to wait long! I don't even know these people and I have the urge to buy prints. That is amazingly creative work; although I wouldn't expect any less from the likes of you.

OK, silly question from a Mac newbie. How do I view this file on my Mac? It asked me if I wanted to download, and I did. Now what?

If you go to Macs website, there are downloads you can get that will allow you to use Windows files such as wmv's etc.

Actually go to Microsoft and get the Windows Media Player for OS X.

Might need to play under Rosetta if you have the Intel Mac

All right, how do I play something under Rosetta? I have the Intel Mac. I don't know if I have Rosetta - does it come with it?

You have it. It should be pretty transparent. I don't have an Intel Mac yet. It is what Apple uses to run non-Universal apps, like MS Office.

Hijacking the thread for just a moment longer (I really hope pedro doesn't mind).

I got the Windows Media Player for Mac working, but when I try to open the file I get a message, "This file may not play correctly because it was compressed by using a codec that is not supported." Then it opens but I get only sound, no pictures. Anybody know what's going on off the top of your heads?

The code used to compress the video isn't compatible with the Mac version. You get that sometimes. That's what happens when you get the cutting edge technology!

There might be other players out there that support the codec. I'll look around

Actually it will not play on my Windows box either. Media Player tried to DL the codec but could not find it. I see others can view it so I'm not sure what is going on. I can not view on a Mac or Windows machine.

Again, there may be other players out there but I won't take the time trying to figure out which one. It is up the the people making the videos to make sure the video is compatible with most up to date players, IMO.

There are some really amazing pics in there. I love the commentary at the end.

Muhahahaha!
