My first task on my Photography Course is to put together a Portfolio of some of my 'current' images. I have never done anything like this before but have decided its a great opportunity for me to work on a portfolio that I maybe able to use for different things in the future.

I am aiming to show mainly my landscape shots as this is my preferred area of photography but have included a few other shots that maybe show I can do other things?

'Landscapes'....

Other 'Stuff'....

Thats my choice's so far. I intend to lose the borders on all of them and, taking on board comments I have had, re-edit the shots before printing.

I would really appreciate your views on whether they are the best choice? You can check the rest of my portfolio out HERE. Also, what size do you think the images would be best printed at?

Thanks for reading :o)

You have some lovely landscapes Talj!!!

I too am looking to put a portfolio of prints together. At present I do not have any actual prints to show people and I am getting asked if I can shoot friends children etc, so I guess I should have something together!

I was going to go for 12x8's or 9x6's (Size ratio suits my camera format). Would 9x6's be too small?

What folders/binders/folio's do you guys use and what is the best way to mount the photos? I can't find much around locally...

Hi Al,

Thanks for your reply.

I intend to go for a folder something like these.

I won't be printing anything smaller than A4 and certainly no larger than A3. I have had 18" x 12" prints done previously and the quality was excellent :o)

I too am stuck on the best ways to mount the photos and would appreciate help/ideas on this!!

Cheers :o)

Hey Al, I can't decide which one I prefer!! Buying stuff on the internet is great but I'm one of these people who likes to 'try before I buy'! I may go into town over the weekend and try and find a folder I like. I'll let you know which I decided one!

Any thoughts which you would go for?

Cheers :o)

Like you I prefer to touch/look at them for real. You really can't see much from the pictures on the web...

I would probably go for a ring binder type which you can add leaves into, though I dont want crappy little poly pockets...
