yes, but probably not until 1st Quarter 2007. If you are a new Intel-based Mac user, wait until this version, as it will be Universal. |

Yep, it almost certainly will not ship until after Windows Vista hits the streets. If you really ned CS2 now, call Adobe and ask if there is a policy for upgrade for recent purchasers and if so what would your upgrade cost be? |

If you haven't yet purchased photoshop you can get a great deal on full version of CS2 for owners of PS Elements that came bundled with their cameras. In your case your E-1 came with a version of Elements that is being accepted for the upgrade. Cost is $299 + state sales tax and $5.95 for shipping. Not a bad deal.

Damn. I bought PSE 4 online in Jan., and hoped they didn't keep track of serials numbers bought through the online store, but it would seem that they do. Anyone have a serial that came with their came that they aren't using and are willing to part with?

if you are a student or know someone who is, check academicsuperstore.com. you can get creative suite 2 premium which inclused PS CS2, illustrator CS2, indesign CS2, golive CS2, acrobat 7.0 all for 389.95. you can also get Exposure for $100.
Pretty freaking cheap. |

I bought the CS2 Suite for $210 a while back at the University of Houston.

I paid a small fortune for mine and there are a lot of issues with the Adobe Bridge which is a major part of the photoshop file management system...mine doesn't work and never did...it opens slowly and then crashes. I checked it out online and it's apparently very common. Which is too bad because I've had to find other not so useful ways of browsing, sorting and working on large numbers of photos. |

I just took advantage of this offer yesterday. Call the Adobe store, and as long as they have your registration on record, they will honor the $299 price. You can also find your serial number by clicking on System Info in the Help menu. Is that what you needed? If you bought PSE 4 from the online store in January, you should be able to get in on the $299 offer. And the guy at Adobe told me the CS2 that you get is not an upgrade--it is a full version. It will not ask you for your PSE serial number. Hope this helps.

Really because I get an error on the website saying it's not valid for the offer...
edit: drunken typing...

Eugene, the offer I posted above was only for PSE versions that came bundeled with a camera. That offer ends on Nov. 30th, 2006. Unfortunately, they were running the same offer of $299.00 for CS2 for those that had bought PSE seperately but that offer ended Aug 31st. Unless you had already registered your PSE version with Adobe you would not have been eligible for that offer either as this was by invitation through email only.
My advice to you would be to make sure your current version of PSE is registered with them, as I'm sure they're going to run another offer like it since CS3 (or whatever they will call it) is coming out early in 2007. Hopefully you'll get the email offer from them.
Another, more complicated option would be to purchase a new, but older, model camera that comes with PSE and use it for the offer that ends in November. You could then sell the camera on ebay to get your money back.
Sorry you missed out this time, but I'm sure there will be other chances.
