Some friends called asking if I would do the first family / newborn photos of their 1 week old daughter. They are also going to send out birth announcements and needed a photo for that. This is the first time I've attempted a newborn session.
Baby Reese
The last several pink shots are variations due to specific sizes, brightness etc that will look good on the small announcement.
I'd appreciate some comments. Thanks. |

Those are pretty cute! From a photo standpoint some have overexposed whites and a few looked like you used the magic wand on the background and took out half of the hair. I bet the family are gonna love them.

the poses are wonderful but like Trynityrose said the hair onhe woman is missing in part of the photos, and the black is a little to black...it pops out isntead of melts backwards.
Can we see the one of the parents with the baby wihtthe background you shot em in ?? maybe we can suggest a better way for you to melt it out and replace with black or a dark dark dark grey |

I concur. The black is a little too black and it kind of seeps onto Andrea's head and over Ben's eye. I love the poses too. Very endearing.
I'm sure the family will love them.
One more thing, a suggestion on the pose Reese is in...I think you should try folding her into full fetal position with feet tucked in and everything.
Just a thought.
edited changing Reese from "him" to "her"
oopsie :)

Okay...looks like I went overboard with the black :) The background is merely a black sheet and then I used levels to blacken it. I have often heard comments on photos here that the "background isn't really black enough" so I took that to heart. I agree with your comments and I will work at softening that a bit. The lighting is diffused window light. |
