DPC Background Blurring Tutorial

This is advanced editing legal isn't it?
08/20/2006 09:13:13 PM · #2
It is, unless the blurring removes completely something that would be considered a major element.

Ok, thanks, the blurring in mine is to enhance and draw attention to the major element.

Yes, but you have to be careful of how much, and what, you remove in the background. Removal of major element rule, etc... Double-check the challenge rules and make sure you're comfortable with meeting the minor vs major element wording.

You can always contact one of the SC members and ask questions specifically and/or send the image in question to get some feedback on conforming to the rules.

Good luck.

So by contacting the SC and sending them the image in question I will not be breaking anonymity?

You would in that we would know which shot is yours, but we often get requests such as yours. However, you can trust us not to let that affect our votes should any of us choose to vote on your image during the challenge.
