I am brand new to digital photography editing. I use photshop Cs2 and love the look of the 3 frames using the single photo, I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction of a tutorial, or give a quick down and dirty how to.....I thought this was a triptych style, but the more i look at them these are 3 seperate photos brought to create one. I have seen a few in the method i am refering to on here but have spent the last 60 mintutes trying to find one as an example without luck.....hopefully someone knows what im talking about....Thanks for any help in advance

Figure out how big you want the whole thing to be when you have all three photos in one frame. Then go into photoshop and click New, and specify the size you want. So lets say that you want an 8x12. Then you would set the size to be 8x12 inches. Once you have the new file made, open the three photos you want in it. Drag the background layer of each photo and drop it onto your blank canvas. Using the selection tool you can move them around. If you want to resize the photo click on edt>transform>scale. Hold shift to avoid distortion and drag one of the four corners to make it the size you want. Hope this helps. |

ok, i dont want the tripytch 3 photo deal, what im looking for is where you have 1 picture segmented by frames etc.......
for example if i had a nature shot that had a waterfall, some nice water running over some rocks and some animal, and I wanted to put smaller frames around them, then burn the rest to be a shade darker so those features stand out......hope this helps....

yes thats one of the styles, the other is using semi transpartent borders, or very small borders to turn it into something like that but where the frames overlap in different directions....but that one is definately one of the ones i like....
btw great shot of that, Im from Grand Rapids, and have been to that spot......

Oh, the photo's not mine, it belongs to taterbug. I simply found it while browsing the results of the Triptych challenge.
