Still planning to be there, and looking forward to it as well. I just wish my 100-400 was not still at Canon being serviced, but I'll live.

My wife, leeleeo, and I will be there with the junior shooter (22 months) in tow. We're planning on being there pretty much all day, at least as much as the little monster will let us.

Hmm... I wonder if I can rent a lens on such short notice. Anyone know of a rental shop in greater Richmond, so I can avoid a trip to NOVA/DC?

As for baloon fest, we have plans for the weekend, but will be there on Friday. We've been before and it is... awesome. :)

Unfortunately, Ray nova isn't going to make it. His wife Brenda had emergency surgery on an out of town trip. She's doing ok. More info in the 30-day Pet Portrait thread (Ray posted details of what happened).

I wish I could go, but I really can't afford both the cost of gas to come to Richmond and entrance to the State Fair. :( Have fun and post pictures!!!

Unfortunately I will not be there either. Sadly, my grandmother passed away yesterday and as you might expect I am more than a little busy now. I hope you all have a good time though, and I will try and catch up with this gtg next year.

Looking forward to seeing y'all there tomorrow! :-)

EDIT: Sorry to hear about your grandmother rich. My thoughts & prayers will be with you.

A good time was had by all who showed up!

More to come, but here's a couple quick and dirtys from the memory card dump.

I hate that I had to miss the gtg but I am so thankful that Brenda is doing well. She has been in the hospital here in Atlanta since Suncay, and the doctor said today that there is a possibility she will be discharged maybe Friday and we can make the trip back to Virginia.

Rich, I'm very sorry to hear about your grandmother's passing. My condolences and prayers for comfort for you and your family.

Andrew (livitiup) nice first shots! The horse and rider are very sharp... looking forward to more from the whole gang!

I dunno if anyone else is up for it, but we're going back Sunday evening for the dusk/night midway shots. We'll be there just after 5 PM (when the admission price drops) until whenever.

We are going with a non-photographer couple and their kids, so it won't be total photo safari, but I'm bringing my camera and have let them know that I'll be wandering off from time to time.

So if 'yer interested...

BTW: Great shots Skip and Jimmy! I still haven't had time to pull down or post process any of mine. I also can't find the damn charger cord for my portable hard drive which has about 300 of my shots on it!
