I tried using the auto thread and it was locked solid and I couldn't create a new one there.

Here is what I wanted to enter but was afraid of getting a DQ for my WPL team. the top right wire I had on a cable had a large highlight running down it and didn't know how much cloning was too much.

This was an idea I had earlier in the week, but I had to shoot at ISO 800 to get the stopped motion I wanted and I had to underexpose and couldn't get the spray to look right while trying to clean up the image. He is hitting water balloons.

outake
this is my outake. the processing is not finished (and never will be) I was having trouble with the ace. anyway i decided that I really wanted a 70's look to it. we reshot with the dealer wearing a sweater, and processed acordingly. BTW thank you to all the good comments on my entry.

Help! How do I post thumbnails that people can click on to get the full image? I have thumbnails and full images in my portfolio here.

The 70s look is pretty much a guaranteed low score at DPC. But you go, cowboy! I love the 70s!

Someone said it might have been a better shot with the guy right over the jump, but I though the entry was a more complete picture.

While I like the point of view of your entry better, the outtake doesn't have someone causing a distraction in the background

A few weeks ago I had a bad score from a shot that I tried to to get a good score on but I didn't even like the shot. I decided that I would make them how I wanted. Sometimes that may lean towards DPC style stuff most other times it will be far from it. I decided that I shouldn't waste my time on something I don't like. I knew it would score lower but I thought it was cooler. Hopefully from time to time the two will come together for a nice score.

I actually like the look of the outtake better. Looks like it could be on the cover of a skate magazine. Great job on both.

Here are a few of mine, I had a bunch to choose from. I did have a few of comments during the challenge that my shot wasn't stopped motion but I have to disagree. IMHO, there needed to be something to convey to the viewer that the MAIN subject was IN motion so I went with what I did. I'm VERY happy with the outcome and even those that didn't agree with me left some wonderful comments and for that I need to say "THANKS!"

I really liked your marble shots. I think 9th was not a great measurment of how good that shot was.

Here is one of my other choices... Liked it in B & W as well but in the end the feet were blurred and the hand was missing... but I like it nonetheless... :)
