I think the word you're looking for is "schmuck." And yes, s/he is. |
No, schmutz is the word I wanted... it's a cross between a schmuck and a putz. You can feel free to use it whenever you'd like, no copyright infringement problems at all. ;) |
Except "schmutz" is also a word in its own right. It means "dirt" and can usually be found all over my dog. Also, "schmuck" and "putz" mean essentially the same thing; they're just sometimes used a little differently. |

Hmmm... too bad "puck" is already in use also. |

ANother image of mine: She calls him Max
When in fact he is a TT
Okay and am I the only one that thinks this smells to much like a Rose tactic?

"Jeez" is clearly just a derivative of the Old English "Jebus," which, inexplicably, was taken from the Sanskrit "Groening." |

FYI, I was just perusing their Terms of Service document and it's interesting that they direct that copyright infringement concerns be sent to their "copyright agent" and not their webmasters:
Name and Address of Agent Designated to Receive Notification of Claimed
Infringement:
Kathryn A. Erickson
Sugar, Friedberg & Felsenthal LLP
Suite 300
Chicago, IL 60602
Telephone, fax, and e-mail address of designated agent: Telephone: 312-704-9400; Fax: 312-372-7951;Email:____@Kaboose.com
Interesting that they don't give the email for that person. I'll be sending a fax tomorrow. I encourage others to do so as well.

Phantom, that post wasn't from the 2peas powers that be, it was from one of the members...no acknowledgement by 2peas staff as far as I know. |

Edit: I forgot the all-important winky smiley, lest I be imagined as rude or something.

You can also stop windown from having that image save bar open when you run your mouse over a picture by adding this meta tag to every page
These two simple additions to the web site would prevent most normal people from taking our images. |
Because it's impossible to block right clicks. As anybody with JavaScript turned off will attest to, the attempt is really laughable at best.
Even if it did work reliably in all browsers, there's nothing that would stop someone from using a page-mirroring app, or simply requesting the page in something else (lynx, w3m, telnet and do it manually...) |

I saw the link on P's to this thread and had to join in. My friend emailed the thief this week trying to get some information and asked a lot of questions. There's another email for you if you want it.

I know I need to update my items...I just get so busy!!! having all my step kids and my daughter and jugging my photography gets crazy!
So there is another email for you. She emailed her today and said "Gotcha" and the person replied,
"Good Job!!!!

I hope you guys don't mind if I stay here for awhile. I was so impressed with all the images from here and really like the different styles I see here. We were freaked out over the images these people were posting and occasionally there would be something that wasn't up to par (to put it nicely). We should have noticed it earlier. It was brought to light by one who might prefer not to be named, though I think she's a hero. Also, the OP of the unethical topic is a great guy who knew where to look to find the photographers. I hope that the photographers who have been robbed take action. I'm afraid she'll just keep making up usernames and won't really ever go away. It's hard to police the internet. I just can't get over the fact that she posted someone elses photos just to hear people say how great she is. Is it really that important.

Since the use of derogatory terms is prohibited by the TOS, a discussion of their etymology seems misplaced, especially in a thread on a different topic ... |

Welcome, Erica and I hope you do stay a while. DPC is a fun community and if learning about photography is your goal, this is a great place to be.

OK, here's an idea - any picture from DPC that gets downloaded automatically comes with an overlay of Art/Ken in one of his better moods, complete with flaming torch, that appears every 10 seconds over top of the downloaded image... I think it would be a nice touch. |

And I don't think etymology is ever a good topic for mixed audiences. ;) |

ROFLMAO
Ok, next time one of my friends or someone at work or anyone stuck in an elevator with me (etc) says "ohmigod, just let it go. why are you so literal?" I'm going to hand them a printed copy of this thread and tell them politely that I'm not the only person like this (sadly I think yours was meant as a joke and mine might be a little more compulsive).
;)
still LOL

Her images are being removed from the peas site as we speak. I was looking through them, and they are dissapearing quickly. |

Another one here from 2Peas. I had been in love with 'her' photos and now that all this has come to light I figured the natural thing to do would be to come here - where the real photographers are. So sorry to everyone who has had their photos stolen :(
Now, since I'm new here... who shouts the first round? ;) |

Another user from 2peas, **Carrie**, over there I found a few of the original photographers.
I wanted to post here like a few others have and give proper credit to the photographers.

As sad as image theft is, it's good to know that there are other photo communities out there as supportive and honest as ours. It looks like we may be getting some really cool new members out of this fiasco - welcome to everyone who's hopped over for the discussion, hope you stick around! |
