Sure.

Dear Wayne,
I went shooting last week, a nice couple they were. At the end of the hour long session they asked me if i'd put film in my camera. Well, no, I didn't.
Now what do I do?

Alternative 1: Say "Processing is so expensive these days that I never waste film at the dress rehersal."

Alternative 2: "Yeah, but instead of rolls, it now comes in these cool flat CF (Compact Film) containers -- you just slide them in this slot, you don't have to rewind, and it even develops itself in the camera!"

Dear Dallas,

The "no exposure" part is inaccurate and it doesn't give yourself enough credit; you DID do the work, you DID make the exposures, it's just that the medium to CAPTURE the exposures was AWOL. A real professional would just lay low until the clients called and said "Where are our pictures?", and would then reply "I sent them to you weeks ago, didn't you get them?"

You can string this line out for a couple of months, and then stage a studio fire (our friend Art can help here) to get yourself off the hook.
