i am looking to purchase a decent digital camera soon
and have had a canon AL 1 forever - i have a quite a few lenses
in a solid range from 24mm to about 400mm, and have been trying to find
out if there is a way to adapt these to a say a canon 10D.
i am not too worried about autofocus features.
any thoughts appreciated
thanks

The 10D takes pretty much any EOS/ EF Canon mount lens.
You can get an FD -> EF lens adaptor, but the results are apparently not really worth it, unless the FD lens is really good/expensive (say a 800mm telephoto or something)
//www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=005yRD has some more discussion as does

do you know where i could find some detailed info
on the subject?
my slr specs
//www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/companies/canon/fdresources/SLRs/al1/spec.htm
Lens Mount: Canon Breech-lock mount.
i have a
sigma 24mm f2.8
canon 35-70mm f3.5
canon 75-200mm f4.5
lens extender 2x
appreciate the feedback - i mean if i can use the lens i have for now
on a 10d - i can always add EF lenses later on - my budget is slim
we just bought a house. and i will have a standard BW darkroom there
so my work with film anyway isnt over.

that doesnt mention anything about breech mount style lenses
unless that is FD?
pardon my ignorance - i have been using this AL1 i own since i was 12
and had access to numerous older Nikons - but have not made many purchases - lots of hand me downs
just trying to get an idea of what i am getting into
i use a crappy kodak dx3700 now ( some images at my website )- and the camera limits me beyond belief
i have tried an older 2MP olympus c2100 i think - decent camera
if you have a suggestion for getting into dig slr's i would research it.
looking to spend under $1400 including at least one lense.
obviously i am really looking to use the ones i have, and purchase a new macro lense.
thanks again,
