The only times I've been chased through the streets by gangs of screaming women were when I've worn my kilt.

They wanted to know where he got the to-die-for skirt and how much it cost ;)
And thanks all, I think we managed to get my point across; Men in skirts can be pretty damned cute! ;)

So, how about a man in a dress?
Is that different, or is that sexy too?

men in kilts should not be hot - pants are much hotter coz more cloth was involved. I think wearing kilts in the winter will require thicker fabrics or they will risk frozen balls. |

Something about a man in full Scottish regalia is very nice. I think the kilt with those argyle socks they wear make their legs look very sexy. Plus, kilts always will have that historical "hmmm, wonder if he's a TRUE Scots under there" mystery to them which is quite intriguing.
A dress now.. I'm thinking that'd tip the scales into a different area, at least for me. I usually only see dresses on men for Halloween and I've yet to attribute 'sexy' to them.
Except for Rupaul! Curse him for being beautiful as a woman. I hate him.

I don't see the difference. Is it because, with a dress, the skirt and the shit (or is it blouse) are connected? If that's the case, then how about a man in a skirt? Wouldn't a man in a plaid skirt look about the same as a man in a kilt?
Maybe it's a subconscious thing. A kilt is really just a blanket, right? Maybe girls think a man in a kilt is sexy because he's carrying around his bed. Sort of like advertising. :D

I vote no.
I personally think that kilts are not sexy.
But that's because I don't find hairy legs under skirts attractive... |

I love my hiking kilt!!. But my male hiking friends didn't like it!! "I don't wanna hike behind you going up a hill!!"
I gotsa lotta Irish in me, would love to have a traditional one, but out of my price range at the moment. So I made my own with quite a few yards of plaid cloth.

Was that when you were wearing wig and fishnets too by any chance?

An attractive man can look even hotter in a kilt but an unattractive one often looks even worse (to me).

Well I have not looked at men with kilts specifically to see if they were sexy or not. Clothes do have an effect on how I see a man...but if his eyes, smile, personality and confidence come across before his clothes ...then it really doesn't matter.

I don't think the sexiness comes from the kilt but I do agree that men wearing kilts are sexy. I think the sexiness comes from the confidence, outgoingness (not a word, I know), maniless in spite of the skirt, that a man wearing a kilt exudes. You have to have all those things to wear one. Also, I would add dedication and loyalty to their group and playfulness mixed with seriousness to march down the street. All traits that most women love in a man.
Are men wearing kilts sexy? I think so - parts of their personality are readily evident by what they wear and I find many of the personality traits sexy.
DISCLAIMER - this is a generalization and is not meant to be taken as an absolute statement. :)
BTW - there is a scottish festival in Alexandria this weekend. See you there!
