Hi,
I posted about a 2 months ago on here asking for a critique of my website: www.chrisnuzzaco.com
I've taken acted upon many of the suggestions and I'm looking for more citique, the site is almsot all up, so keep that in mind, a few links lead to nowhere at the moment. I'm curious about:
How it looks on different browsers
How fast it loads on different connectons
Navigation
Does it look professional
Thanks!

Lol...yeah. Not to bad. You don't have anything under bio or links yet....I'm going to guess your still working on that. Why speak about yourself in the 3rd person? Other than that, as Cindi said, clean, simple and to the point. |

very nice indeed. Just one thing though. In your first photography gallery, there's a large blank spot with no thumbs in it(Room for two more it looks like) in the middle of the bottom row. Don't know if this is intentional or not though.

Why do you have a entry page??? Does it add to the value of the site in some way, or just another button to make people click before they get to what is of real value on your site? Normally a portal page is used while something is loading the the background (ie large flash file) do you need it for any reason?
(sorry you did ask ....)
You can make fun of my amature website if you want in return :-)

Thanks, this is good feed back, I'm thinking of getting rid of the entry page, as for the blank spots, what browser are you using? it might not have loaded all the way.
Is "Elite Cameraman" too much? My dad says its too cocky, but I do work in all three disciplines (film, photography, TV), which is why I use that.
I'm thinking of putting the the opening graphic in the home.html page.
Thanks!

Load the front page in flash would be a nice touch. All in all nice website. Only thing I wish was the text on the front page to be set lower. Offset lower or higher to the spot light.. |

We LOVE links... we've proven that we will click almost any of them that are posted in the forums.
I like this link. A great looking site with some awesome work showcased.
Much better than that Llama, Llama, Cheesecake, Llama link.

Okay, I'll draw on what I know of web pages and what I think in general.
Firstly, the splash page. I'd ditch it. But if you don't ditch it, I'd change "Elite Cameraman" to "Cinematographer", being as you don't use the phrase Elite Cameraman anywhere else, and, yes, it is a bit much IMO - even if you are an elite cameraman, the best people don't need to brag.
Secondly, I can't believe that this is how the page is meant to render. I get a white rectangle bottom left, which changes size. On the Equipment page it fills the page, on the gallery page it's non-existant. On other pages it's just bottom-left and the rest is black. If I flick between your browser page and another then the white rectangle turns black whereever the page was covered until I reload. if I resize, the white rectangle turns black.
Basically what I'm saying is that this white rectangle is a problem, it doesn't look right at all.
I'm also not sure about only the centre of the page changing. Sometimes I'm waiting to see something appear at the bottom. Probably to fill the white rectangle ;) |

A few things I noticed are things that others noticed:
1) The "Enter" page doesn't do anything for the site and is just one more thing for people to click through.
2) Referring to yourself in the 3rd doesn't really work.
3) The photo you use for your gallery isn't the best one you're using on the site. It's grainy and kinda boring. I think the one you use for your Contact information would better represent you.
4) The "next page" text arrows seem cheese. There's thousands of free arrow images on the web.
5) Your cloud bubbles with text in them aren't equally spaced on the pages. The spacing on the Contact bubble is different than the Services one.
6) The red text.. This is a personal thing. It's the generic HTML "red" color. It's just always bugged me, heh.
7) I find that when you're working with photography websites it's best to leave color out of the site itself. Let your photographs be the color otherwise you stand the chance of clashing. For instance your Services page. Pink, purple, and red? I was always taught growing up that pink and red defined "clash."
Overall it looks like you have a mix of styles and honestly it doesn't all come together for me. It seems like you've got a pretty basic HTML site with classic website colorings. It's got some great photos on it that when viewed are seen in Flash. Then on your Equipment page you just have a flat black and white image that has no depth.
You're selling your services that require capturing life as it happens. You seem to do that well in your actual work. I just don't think your website portrays that.
I hope this wasn't too harsh...
About the white box people are talking about.. I get it too, but it's random and the times it happened to me it filled the whole bottom. Seems like a code bug of some sort, but I couldn't tell you exactly. I use IE6.

It only happens for me in IE, not Opera.
I've stuck some examples in my screenshots collection. I'll remove them once the OP has checked it out, or whatnot.. |

Holy crap do I ever love the way your images pop up from the thumbnails in the gallery, and the way they're displayed. How did you do that?

This is what I get in Firefox v1.5.0.5
While it's loading, the arrows show as being thumbnails in the thumbs section, and then drop down once they have loaded.
