No comments.....Please, if you have the time, I would love some comments, as I always return "comments for comments", as I love visiting "new" portfolios, and also revisiting my favorite portfolios......

| Left you a couple - those are very nice, Shez! And I have one in my portfolio that looks like probably the same or at least very similar plant. It's in B&W, called "Succulent" - take a look if you get a chance and see if they're the same thing. |

Mel - you mean this one right? :)
Sherpet, I'm not as keen on the ones on the left with the wide view. Feels a bit flat and I don't like the lines so much.
The one on the right looks a lot better. Good use of aspect ratio.
As for the color processing, I do prefer the greens one over the sepia personally. I wonder what would have happened if you had done the treatment to the negative of the image, retaining the opposite color of those thorns... I bet it would look pretty cool. The opposite of the red orange is a bright blue/purple... It would go well with the sepia IMHO.
I find that the close-up sepia is also just a tiny bit harsh in it's contrast... did you tweak it heavily in curves? Both images show a bit of granularity... That's probably a necessary evil to displaying the texture of the leaves... |

Hi :)
In order of my favorite first:
Good crop. I very much like the overall constract of greens and whites, and those little beads of red finish it off, also adding that extra touch of uniqueness.
As an abstract I like this one most. Very nice lines. Reminds me of firework or burst of energy.
Not completely duotone but it works nicely. For the subtle green and blue hues look good together.
No comment return necessary :)

Yeah, and in viewing it on the laptop, it's got some seriously blown highlights. Back to the drawing board... or back to the camera would be more appropriate. |

This is a copy of my comment re your image, love shez.
Try taking an image after 4pm, or even just before "dusk", when there are no shadows, as that is one of my secrets..... It seems to be when I get the very best results.....I also try and look at all differant angles, like from all sides and also from down below looking up and then all over the top..... I do think your image is a simirer one to mine, if it is greentones with white stripes in color, with the red thorns.....
Now everyone knows my secret, & it isn't a secret anymore.....

Thanks, Shez! I think the plant here is a little different as it doesn't have the red thorns. The leaves are a very grayish green in color. I'll see if I can get one either early in the morning or later in the evening when the houses block the direct sun a bit. Like I said, I'll keep trying, and I really appreciate the tips!
Edit - actually, it may be the same plant after all - I looked again and the thorns are a bit red on the tips.

| Both of these work OK, but I like the blue tones better. Left you a comment. |

Gereral & Rikki,
I have returned some comments for your most valued comments..... Thanks heaps guys.....
General, I look forward to seeing some of those photos you are going to take of some plants similar to these. Please let me know when you do this.....
Rikki, It is so hard to leave comments on your work but did the best I could. I nearly had a mishap while commenting on one of them, as I couldn't stop laughing, and nearly wet my pants..... You should do that to a girl.....
