this spider bit my girlfriend. i caught it and photographed it after the fact.
the day before i was biten by a 'rabid wolf spider' at work. not poisonous but created a large burning welt on my arm that lasted about 36hrs.

i did use the flash, bounced off the ceiling. i think it was shot at f:11. spider is about 1/4 in diameter.

That is a way sweet shot! I don't like black widows or brown recluses but I don't mind other ones. |

Nice photo!
I only recently became aquainted with the wolf spider when we found a few had taken up residence in my house! They are huge! Because they are hunters they are aggressive. The darn thing kept coming at me, but ended up safely in a baggy & then released in a wooded lot nearby. :)

there a lot of species of wolf spider. the one that got me had a body about an inch long. scared the crap out of me. she was released outside. osme of the species are huge though. i think the most common around here are the thin legged wolf spider - quite small but mean looking none-the-less.
