 this spider bit my girlfriend. i caught it and photographed it after the fact. the day before i was biten by a 'rabid wolf spider' at work. not poisonous but created a larger burning welt on my arm that lasted about 36hrs.

That looks pretty good, but open that aperture up and use a flash for some fill. For the best DOF, you'll want to stop that lens down to like f/16 or around there.
