I've bee shooting in every mode except Raw mode on my Nikon D50. Photographers are telling me that Raw mode is a good way to shoot. I tried it once but when I tried to load it on Photoshop elements 3.0, I couldnt see the picture. What do I need to do to shoot in RAW to see photos in photoshop.

You need some sort of RAW converter. Maybe try to use the software that came with your camera to convert the raw to a TIFF.

I don't think PS Elements 3.0 has the capability to handle RAW

You'll either need Photoshop CS2, or you can download RAW shooters Essentials for free and use that to process and convert to JPEG (or TIFF). Then you can process as usual with PS Elements

RAW shooters Essentials is used by many people on this site and highly recommended

PS Elements DOES have the ability to handle RAW files. You will probably have to update to the latest version of Camera Raw from the Adobe website.

Tony is right. There is a RAW plug-in on the Adobe web site that will do the trick for you. You just replace the old file with the new one. The directions on how to do it are good.

My bad. Next time I don't know, I'll keep my mouth shut
