It's been a pet project of mine for some time and I'm really enjoying using the thing. I don't expect it will be a lot of folks cup of tea, but I personally find it very exciting. A mini view camera with movements (and the lens coverage to make good use of it) oh my... And I havn't even taken the thing outside yet.

*Places ignorant hat on*
Looks awesome, I want one, but I have some important questions.
What does it do?
Why?

Basically it allows you to explore what are called "movements."
Ok, so what the heck are movements? Well, basically, movements are used to make adjustments in the relationship between the sensor and the lens. With your standard camera this is fixed (lens does not move) and you cannot vary it at all. With movements, however, you can bend the lens around and get various DOF and focal plane effects.
But hey, my techno babble is weak at this hour and my kung fu is no good. Have a look at this link which explains things nicely.

Have now posted a couple of outside shots to my mini view page. Nothing great, but perhaps enough to give folks an idea what I plan to do with this rig.
Anyone have any old S2A lenses they would like to sell?

So this is like a homemade Lensbaby? |

Yes. I suppose if you break it down to the lowest common denominator, it is indeed like a home-made lens baby.
But, the two really have about as much in common as a golf cart does with a passenger car.
They are both capable of generating the same kinds of OOF effects, but this rig does it with top quality MF optics, and is locked into a mount so that you can get consistent, repeatable results.
I like to think it more closely resembles a view-camera... but I have to admit that calling it an upscale lens baby is just as correct.
