I did a photoshoot for my mom's theatre in Iceland, for the Light Nights production. She ended up picking 50 photos for advertising, news releases, and the program; here are the 5 I've had a chance to edit a bit more carefully:

Theatre photography is like studio model shoots, only the lights are in all sorts of colors and you have no control over them (at least I didn't this time, the lighting designer just turned on full base lights and left). Getting a neutral white balance is next to impossible, so I tried to use the color for effect instead. BTW, the actors (Arna, Emil, Leifur, and Kristín) were great and I highly recommend seeing the show if you are in Reykjavík this summer.

Thanks in advance for any comments!

Nice job! Especially #5 - very dynamic and intriguing for a theatre ad. I'm surprised the lighting designer left y'all alone without making his lights pretty. Any lighting designer worth his salt would cringe at the sight of all those shadows across the actors' faces. The first one would be great otherwise.

i think you did really well considering the lighting conditions. i like #3 -- i can see that as a poster or some other marketing piece.

Excellent! yes, theatre lighting can be really difficult to work with, and you've done a great job!
