For the empty room challenge? I thought about it but then I realized how much I hate moving things. |

Something I find interesting but don't really understand is why some people's first thought was to empty a room while for others (including me) the first thought was to find an empty room. Seems like people in both camps hate moving things.

i emptied a room, I thought finding an empty room may have been concidered DNMC. Like an empty room in a delapitated house or warehouse kind of thing(that said my favorite of the challenge is a room like that). those that got an empty room in say a "for sale" house had got lucky but i didnt have that opportunity so i emptied a room myself.

I got lucky...I found a brand new house that is in the middle of nowhere...to the point they couldn't get power there...so they stopped work and it is still there...many years later. It has patios front and back the width of the house and whilst it is a large one room...it has 5 sets of french doors...no roads/driveways..nothing...surrounded by bush and looking over a river...!
Best of all...I have permission to use that 40 acres with the river whenever I want...house and all. Pure privacy.

the forums. it was questioned so i figured if some people werent sure than there must be others who would feel it was wrong and i decided not to chance it. |

I went out in search of an empty room. Then tried to figure out how to put an item into it without getting in trouble for trespassing. It was not easy.

Went on a search to find an empty room. We knew of a few abandoned houses around our county so we drove around until we found one that was accessible and didn't look like it was going to fall down around us as soon as we stepped inside (lots of those around here) :)
We ended up finding a treasure that I'm sure we'll visit again as there are so many possibilities there.
I'm too lazy to clear out a room. :)

My brother is building a new house, so I used it. The rooms are empty and largely unfinished.
But then, I didn't enter. :) |

I sort of did both things: I emptied a room, went away for a while to get my camera and came back to find an empty room. Sorry.
I did, in fact, empty a room, except for fixtures and fittings. I should have taken a photo before I started ransacking (rather like industrial spies do), so that I could have fitted it all back in again without having to throw stuff away.

I have 3 empty bedrooms..we moved here(Michigan) to sell the house..the hardwood floors were cold when we got here from Arizona so we stayed on the carpet....lol so I had a choice...and it was easy to "bring" in whatever it was, to shoot it...we came in a Honda Civic, and stored all of our stuff out west.

I had a beautiful empty house to my disposal, as my aunt died and I had to sell it (which I did a week later for 800.000 euro = over a million US dollars). Unlucky for me the State will take about 60% and then I have to share what's left with 10 others, nevertheless resting quite an amount of cash for each.

That is terrible to have 60% taken away.

Yep, that's because we're family in the third degree.

I've emptied a room, but that was after eating a few bowls of split pea soup.

I emptied a dancefloor once. No photos though, and it was about 15 years too early for the challenge : )
