I'm thinking they'll all be interested in different photos...otherwise, can't you just sell the useage to more than one paper?

after looking through those pictures, just take whatever the papers offer, those aren't exactly pictures the papers would pay much for, very few images show actual fire, only some smoke and the fire department playing with water.
to be able to charge big bucks for press photos this would have to be George Clooneys house burning and he would have to be naked on the balcony ;)
100$ would seem fair to me, it's about the same price I got from the biggest newspaper in Iceland for pictures of a car crash that other newsreporter couldn't get to due to heavy traffic.
and you can sell the usage of the same image to all the papers.
it's only if you sell the exclusives to a paper, and then you can't even show the pictures in your portfolio.

Not that I know anything about being paid by the papers and such, but don't they ususally have a set price?
Nice pictures. Some of them would make good stock. Just need to get a few model releases for the ones that only have one or two people in them. Offer the guys some 8x10s for compensation? |
