hmm... now that we've got "thing" defined, can we start on empty room? cause i saw some air in a few of the shots... and that air probably had dust in it, meaning, of course, that the room wasn't totally empty...

so i'm off to vote everyone down a peg or 3...

Apparently, I've also been blasted by the DNMC nazis. Apparently, it's a bit out of the box. I am such a poor thing.

I was contemplating of pulling it last night but on the 10th vote, someone added it as a favorite. Thanks to you, I'll keep it in the challenge. As soon as I score a 6 or 7, some punk leaves me a 2. Bah! Whatever dudes and dudettes ;)

LOL! Too funny Rikki. Nice job on the mag cover!

I think we should have a challenge called "Troll". It would be interesting to see what DPC'ers can come up with. Someone could have a picture of their wife or husband or even cat or dog and it still wouldn't be DNMC.

I'm not even going to explain what a 'thing' is - or 'thingamajig' as my wife calls it. It's not going to change my score anyway ;)

Im not one to comment in these threads about stuff like this,

But I've actually gotten comments considering wether having the
camera in the room doesn't work or not.

As far as I'm concerned, my shot has 1 object present in the picture, and I like it. So im satisfied :p

Sometimes, a picture can meet all the challenge rules exactly and still be a sub-par photo. Not ours of course, but some. ;-)

Just kidding, this challenge has people going!

Nice comments though and the remarks are about the one thing I expected they would trip over. But I didn't know how to change it without getting DQed again. LOL
Still, I'm happy with my score and my photo.

That's a 4 average folks ;) But I guess on their scale, that equates to about an 8 right?

Well Rikki...it looks like I will be a poor thing with you. Damn Trolls...!
06/05/2006 08:46:18 PM · #62
btw, i love it when someone says he/she voted you a 6 but only gave you a 3 ;)

i guess they read page 13 in the current issue - Trolling 101
06/05/2006 09:27:13 PM · #63
don't you just hate troll votes
last night in 8 votes I got
3 10's
4 8's
1 6
thats an average of 8.5 (so I must have meet the challenge)
vote number 9 was a 2

and there must be a lot of trolls as my score is well below 8.5

and as a person can't be considered as being nothing (not a thing)
it must be something (a thing)
so all you DMC people lighten up

You know you have become quite the troll expert. I just saw you on Fox News. Luckly I had my camera ready. :P

Oh and forgive me for the horrible edit. :)

[quote=kudzu] hmm... now that we've got "thing" defined, can we start on empty room?

Back to those empty rooms - where did you all find them??? I don't know anyone who has that much free space in their homes/apartments, etc!!

ha ha

BTW - i'm new, and I thought all of your photos were great - very creative!

Good God! I've just started reading this thread and I can't believe the amount of nitpicking there is about whether a person is 'thing' or not.

I've read some pretty loopy threads at DPC before but this one has some of the most pedantic ‘opinionising’ I've come across.

I'm sure we don't need reminding, but just in case anybody forgot, this is a digital PHOTOGRAPHY contest.

I̢۪m scoring over 6 at the moment, but I realise now why it isn̢۪t any higher (smacks head on desk in disbelief).

Ouch!

So you must realize then that the reason you're 'only' scoring over 6 is 'cause you're using a Nikon camera. If you had a Canon you be scoring over 7.

BTW - who said DPC'ers posted 'opinionizing' threads? ;)

Aha! I understand now.

It must be the superior 'Nikon Captured' image quality that is giving me away :-)

Alright I think I am going to be in last place.... YES!!!! Oh well... Sorry that my photo stunk and didnt represent the topic too well.... I will try better in the green II challenge I promise.... Just thought I'd point out that their test is actually wildly incorrect in several instances. I wouldn't rely on it to provide any answers.

Trolls are out again, hovering over my submission at this time... dropping with two consecutive 3s. (total change 6 pts in 2 votes anyway)
