heres something meaningful, punky.

your picture should have rated higher, achiral. ive been toying with the idea of setting up my camera in front of the couch at parties and slamming unsuspecting persons because of you

ahh.. aspirations of delinquency.
04/26/2002 09:00:39 AM · #15
i love how people every once in a while try to leave profound statements about people being children or delinquency, when some of the most immature people on this site are some of the older ones

not you drew

I was joking really. Drew's profile says 21. To me that's a spring chicken.

I just want to know what this whole thread has to do with voting anyway.

To reply to your original post, David, my concern with it is that it makes the voting scheme somewhat more difficult (keeping in mind there are still people who don't understand it) as well as adds a little more time to the voting process (a process that might already be too lengthy). I was thinking a few weeks back of something like superlatives, where you could pick one from a dropdown. i.e. Most Creative, Best Challenge Interpretation, uhmmmm... I'm out of superlatives :)

...

Best use of color...
Best use of depth of field...
Best use of black and white...
Best use of perspective...
Best use of lighting...

just some thoughts...

i think jmsetzler is right on with a few of those ideas but i could see a problem developing with a black and white or lighting award. those are more specific in the others in that what would happen if everyone decided to go for the black and white or lighting prize and each picture was essentially just a contest for a sub-category and not the actual category like transtions or whatever it may be for that week.

... but given that the number of submissions means that future challenges might be broken in sub-catagories anyway, this might be a good way of doing so.
