I am feeling soo soo blue. We had to say good-bye to a great companion and friend today. My parents dog who I saw on a daily basis was very ill, sick and the pain today started to reach unbearable heights. We believed we had no choice, but to give her relief.
I want to tell the world she was a beautiful creature. My heart aches... I love and loved her so very much...
Here is a photo of Schnutzi one year ago to the week. It has always been a favorite photo of mine. I blew it up and professionally framed it for my mom this past Mother's Day.

I'm sorry for your loss -- I know you'll miss her for a long time. But you can also feel good that you demonstrated your love by thinking more of her than yourselves. |

My thoughts are with you. Losing our dog last year was the hardest thing that my wife and I have ever had to deal with.
Shortly afterwards, I found this quote, which I reflect upon very frequently, and thought I'd share it with you.
"We who choose to surround ourselves with lives more temporary than our own live within a fragile circle, easily and often breached. Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way. We cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully understanding the necessary plan..."
-Irving Townsend, "The Once Again Prince"
May your memories of Schnutzi live on, both in your heart and in your photos. |

I am a softie for these kind of situations. And being dog owner of 3, I know very well how it hurts when one of them goes (lost one last summer to a brutal dog attack). I hope that good memories of her will replace the pain you are feeling now. Feel free to cry on my shoulder.

My family and I extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences. Be comforted by the fact that she has now met her Creator and feels joy beyond measure, and that ultimately, you will met her again in the Great By and By.
You are perhaps in a position to enter a most meaningful "Monument" entry this week... Not all monuments are made of stone. A chew toy or food bowl lovingly preserved would meet the challenge and possibly give you a vent for grief :)

Thanks for sharing my saddness with me, and expressing your feelings. It helps cope with the loss knowing there are others who love their creatures like I do...
Best,
Renee |

That pain is the greatest I think...being the recipient of unconditional love and being able to return it is sustaining and enriching. To lose it is seemingly unbearable...I have a twelve year old aussie who is beginning to show signs of the inevitable. You will be comfortable with the memories and there will be a new best friend in your future, not the same but satisfying. Anne |

OK, you've got me bawling here! I read this, then look at our sweet little minpin that we love SO much, and the very thought of losing her is unbearable. We (my husband and I) are so sad about your loss - our sincerest condolences to you and your family.
