I have a 6.46 in Fireworks right now. Not a bad start.

We can just ignore that 4.89 in Stationary.....

I'm here but less and less each day. I missed the challenges this week becasue of a shoot and work but will be in for this week somehow.

Still here, Nobody. :) BTW, great start with that Fireworks entry! My "Progress" shot is doing okay, but I think my "On the Beach" entry will do significantly better. And now that idnic has so graciously bestowed me with a gift membership, my options for challenges are opened up a bit more. :D

Just thought I'd post to our thread and see if I can get a little more activity in here. :D Though we now have two losses, we're starting to move up the rankings and are on the right track. Our Week 2 average of 5.8788 wasn't too bad and we're definitely showing improvement. :) Thanks to cresus and DAWAR for the great Lines entries and kudos to Nobody for another 6+ score! I think we can quite possibly keep moving up the ranks at this rate. Any thoughts on Week 3? Do we have any potential strong contenders? :)

I'm looking at a 6.1x entry right now in the b/w challenge. Do we have 3 others for tomorrow's rollover?

An fyi - I've been out of the country for the last week. I'm scrambling to get an entry in for the tuesday cuttoff, but I'm hoping that you guys can carry the load this week. Let's hope we have a little better participation.

Sorry about not being in week 4. I'll try and get entries in for 5. My schedule got crazy this week requiring 16 hour days. I am in though and have been trying.

Nobody, I agree that team participation has been poor so far. :( I have a Week 4 entry, but it was shot and post-processed within an hour of the deadline because of such a hectic week and is suffering because of it (5.1 average vote so far in Zen). I plan on putting a good deal of effort into this week's challenges and every subsequent week of the WPL2. Even though we have little chance of actually placing high at this point, I think that we should continue on and do our absolute best (assuming that there are at least 4 of us to compete each week).

I know that there are certain individuals that wish not to participate because of time restraints (which I certainly understand), but I urge the rest of you to not be discouraged by our slow start and to come out swinging! The whole point of DPC is to better your own photography and hopefully help others at the same time. How are we going to learn if we don't push our own limits and do our absolute best? So who's with me? Let's band together and go show those others teams what we can do!!! :D

I agree...there's no reason to not enter. I'm nominating Nobody to take over as captain since rex isn't able to participate anymore. Even though I'm really busy for the next week I'm going to enter something even if I don't like it much simply so we have enough entries. I'm going to really try and take some cool shots though.

I have contacted Southern Gentleman and have asked him to switch me into the captain's spot.

MrExpress emailed me today and indicated that he has been out-of-pocket, but should be able to start participating. That said, where we are is:

Nobody - actively participating
Cutlasdude70 - actively participating
DAWAR - actively participating
Cresus - actively participating
MRXpress - noshow to date, but promising to start
Rex - inactive (but hopefully that will change?)
GreenGiant - not participating, has not responded to PMs.

That means we have 4 definite participants, one promising to start, and 2 inactives.

The bottom line is that we need 100% participation each week, because we really can't count on somebody having our backs. I would ask that everyone try to get in at least one entry each week - any score is better than the zero we get when only 3 enter. Frankly, a boring but in-focus, properly balanced shot will usually score around 5, you should be able to get something in with just an hours' effort.

If you don't mind, I would also appreciate it if you could PM me with your email addresses so I can send distributions to the team. The DPC PM system works, but I have to send to each of you individually.

Who has entries in this week (week 4)? I only have one, which is at a 5.25 right now. Not great, but I had been out of the country until Sunday, and it's certainly better than a zero.

My reasons: I have a job, am spending as much time as I can with my kids for the last few days of summer.

Rex, you haven't participated in the first 4 weeks, and you said you aren't planning on participating. Are we missing something here?

Hi rex, I agreed to let them change captains because I PMed you and got no response plus I seen your post that you were not going to participate. I also viewed your post here which lead me to believe you were not going to participate. I totally understand your reasons and have no problem with that. But you should understand that the team wants a captain to lead team. I don't think they in anyway was trying to be mean or rude. They were going on your post. You will remain on the team in case you decide to participate in a challenge.

I hope you understand as we understand your reasons.
